Become
a Friend of Hypatia: you would support the Trust and its aims, and help
to raise interest and funds for our projects, local, national and international.
You will be kept fully informed of the Trust's progress through newsletters and
meetings. Click here for a membership form.
You
can become a Friend through any, or all, of the following ways:
- Through
a one-time subscription of £20.00 (U.S.A.$30). Through a one-time subscription
of £20.00 (U.S.A.$30). By joining our mailing list, you will receive notices and
occasional newsletters (though these will be at minimum level, to keep our administrative
overheads down; postage is becoming prohibitive!)
- Gifts of books and archives. By sending us relevant material,
by or about women, from your own collection, or bequeathing it to us, to continue
the development of the library and its collections being deposited internationally.
- Financial donations. Any donation is welcome. Those
of £100.00 (U.S.A.$150) or over entitle you to
join the Patrons Group, called HYPATIA'S HUNDREDS. The initial founding period
(1997-2000) has come to an end. A new category of Patron, also called Hypatia's
Hundreds, is open for subscribers. Being
a Patron also entitles you to receive a free copy of each publication coming from
Hypatia Publications in that period.
- Bequests and
legacies. You
could consider leaving a residual legacy in your will toward the maintenance
and development of the Hypatia Libraries and its outreach activities
in support of women's contributions to society and culture.
This is a tax efficient way of using some of that wealth that would
otherwise disappear at death.
Your support in this way will entitle you to membership of The Hypatia Trust,
that can be renewed by gift (of relevant books or papers) or involvement with
any of our ongoing projects. This website will be updated regularly with our latest
news. Because we are a 'Fellowship' of equals, and administration is kept to an
absolute minimum, we will not be chasing you for annual re-subscription. If you
wish to donate by using a direct debit we will be very grateful for your support.
